Amid concerns about all the dead fish corpses that kept washing up on the Longjiang River, Chinese officials have discovered that cadmium pollutes the water that locals use as a drinking source. The level was measured to be 80 times the maximum level. EIGHTY. The maximum level by CHINESE standards, and the Chinese are not really known for public safety standards.

Libyan Freedom Fighters Take a Strong "Anti-Freedom" Position

The UN is growing concerned that their plan to assist half of Libya in defeating the other half, and then just hope everything sort of works out somehow isn’t working. Militia fighters find themselves with nothing to do and lots of guns, and have taken to systematically persecuting, detaining, and torturing pro-Gaddafi forces in Bani Walid. After months of fighting to rid Libya of Gaddafi, who was known for arbitrarily holding thousands of prisoners in a secret network of detention facilities, some of the freedom fighters have begun arbitrarily holding thousands of prisoners in a secret network of detention facilities.
